Head Properties Runner reports to Yale Repertory Theatre (YRT) Stage Carpenter. Works as a member of the stage crew during technical and dress rehearsals and performances while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship, efficiency and safety.

Required Skill/ability 1: Demonstrated knowledge of properties construction, basic carpentry, and electricity. Working knowledge of stage machinery and fly systems.
Required Skill/ability 2: Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively w/faculty, staff, students, interns, guest artists and other professionals representing a wide diversity of personalities. Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team setting.
Required Skill/ability 3: Calm and collected under pressure with a strongly demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, follow schedules, and follow rapid instructions. Demonstrated ability to receive and operate cues during technical rehearsals and performance.
Required Skill/ability 4: Knowledge of job-related health and safety issues and ability to identify potential hazards.
Required Skill/ability 5:
Preferred Education, Experience and Skills: Bachelor's degree in theatre production with emphasis in scenic design or properties construction. Experience with scene painting, carpentry and sewing. Valid Connecticut State Permit to Carry Pistols and Revolvers. Training in the use and maintenance of theatrical weapons. Stage management experience.
Required Licenses Or Certifications: Valid drivers' license.
Four years of related work experience, two of them in the same job family at the next lower level, and a high school level education; or two years of related work experience and an Associate's degree; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Professional and/or college-level experience in theater production or run crew.
