Performs skilled masonry and concrete related duties requiring a high degree of professional skill and technical knowledge. Adheres to all safety guidelines. Subject to callback and unscheduled work hours as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.
50% - Essential - Masonry and Concrete Duties: Performs semi-skilled and skilled duties as a concrete finishing and mason in removal and replacement of block, brick and concrete as required. Reads and interprets drawings and schematics from design as needed to demo and install per instructions from supervisor, architect, engineer or contractor. Estimates labor, material and time associated to complete project. Assists in installation of sidewalks, curbs, simon and wood forms for retaining walls. Places and bends reinforced steel as required. Raises or lowers utility structures such as storm drains, sewers, sanitary sewers, power, communications, steam, chillwater manholes, light pole foundations, building footings and various other concrete and brick applications.
20% - Essential - General Construction, Maintenance, Repair and Remodeling: Assists in general construction, maintenance, repair and remodeling of campus facilities. Adheres to all OSHA safety guidelines, MSDS and PPE on all projects.
15% - Essential - Requisition and Purchase Orders: Works with supervisor for project assigned. Calculates cubic yards of concrete, flowable fill, tons of stone, slope percentages for proper drainage of concrete flabs, and tops of foundations. Processes purchase requisitions and purchase order number for projects.
15% - Essential - Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Operates and maintains all equipment, including mini excavator,skid steer, backhoe, dump truck, fork lift, jack hammer, tamp, concrete saw, core drill, power actuated piston fastener, screeds, bull float, trowel, jointer, broom, trowling machine, edger, core, drill, power concrete buggy, rotary drill and hammer. Prepares sub-grade as necessary to install forms. Keeps abreast of latest technology, including materials and equipment.
A high school diploma and trade experience that is directly related to the area of employment.
