Maintenance Mechanic is a multi-trade technician that works with a team of mechanics to maintain campus buildings and ensure the proper operation of all aspects of our operations. The position must have a vocational degree in the carpentry trade and preferably have experience in other trades such as locksmith, masonry, equipment operation or electrical. Duties include: inspections, installation, repair, maintain and monitor building structural elements with knowledge of carpentry aspects. Install structures and fixtures, such as windows and molding. Measure, cut, or shape wood, plastic, and other materials. Construct building frameworks, including walls, floors, and doorframes. Help erect, level, and install building framework with the aid of rigging hardware and cranes. Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures. Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements. Experience working with diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications in order to complete construction tasks. Preferred candidates will have professional licenses and certifications or successful completion of certificates will be required. The schedule is primarily Monday through Friday however it will require some weekend work and must be part of a department on-call rotation. Position located in Kennett Sq., no public trans. avail.
