This position is responsible for working with the Technical Director (TD) in the planning, drafting, budgeting, construction, and installation of all theatrical scenery and special effects for all Court Theatre productions. Working closely with the Technical Director, the ATD's duties include:-With TD, analyze and price out scenic designs-With TD, engineer creative solutions to design challenges -With TD, draft construction drawings-Order materials, reconcile department spending-Hire, schedule and manage labor pool and budget-Supervise overhire carpenters-Supervise the build, load-in and strike of sets-Construct sets and special effects-Maintain shop tools and supplies-Attend technical rehearsals and production meetings as needed-Perform routine repair and maintenance on running shows-Coordinate schedules for build and load-in with related production departments and facilitate communication between departments.
