Procurement Manager Job Responsibilities
The responsibilities and duties for the Procurement Manager include, but are not limited to, the following items:
Oversee all procurement and purchasing activities
Develop, implement, and monitor long-term procurement strategy
Evaluate existing and source new buying programs to cut cost and improve service levels
Partner with all areas across the company to identify and analyze areas for cost savings. Develop and implement procurement strategies to address these needs
Negotiate with vendors for goods and services, negotiating the maximum value through quality, price, and terms
Identify preferred/qualified vendors and develop working relationships to maximize savings and quality
Assist the sales team with RFPs and new customer acquisition and setup in regards to product pricing
Proactively manage upcoming procurement actions such as project timelines, contract renewals, cost updates, and vendor negotiations
Manage all Purchasing Agents and Buyers and oversee all purchasing activities; conduct performance reviews, hold regular one-on-ones, and coach direct reports
Recommend, develop, document, and implement streamlined procurement and purchasing processes
Partner with Project Managers and Business Development Managers to oversee and execute vendor and contract evaluation and selection
Recommend, develop and implement procurement reports, controls and metrics. Establish goals and regularly report on anomalies
Mentor and train internal stakeholders regarding procurement processes including complex negotiation, influencing techniques, and contract execution
Provide training and support to all purchasing associates and stakeholders to ensure process consistency, best-in-class planning and forecasting techniques, and appropriate execution of MRP plan
Work with various stakeholders to proactively forecast, plan, and coordinate future business requirements to meet company objectives and ensure all materials are available to meet operational demand
Spearhead regular pricing negotiations
Review budgetary line items for warranty and error write-offs and classifying or reclassifying the expense to the proper account.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Procurement Manager Specifications
Minimum of 10 years of experience in purchasing/procurement
Minimum of 5 years of People Management experience
Minimum of 5 years of MRP experience
Minimum of 5 years of negotiation and contract experience
P&L responsibility experience
Microsoft Office (including Excel) knowledge
4-year Degree or equivalent work experience
Experience in Division 8
