Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Senior Facilities Project Manager for The Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O). This position reports to the Senior Director Project Services, manages a wide variety of construction projects from the design phase to timely completion.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Ensures projects are in compliance with applicable construction codes as well as state and federal laws and university standards.
Oversees the work of architects and contractors.
Acts as a liaison and advocate for the customer and develops and maintains a supportive and open relationship.
Communicates with stakeholders and provides status updates.
Provides leadership and resolves all project related issues.
Ensures timely and accurate completion of all related administrative documents and files.
Manages overall project budget and ensures the expenditures remain within budget.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture or related field with a minimum of five years of experience in the industry as a project manager, architect or engineer.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must be able to coordinate and execute multiple, simultaneous projects, anticipating project needs and maintaining effective communication with all stakeholders throughout the process.
Must have in-depth knowledge of applicable construction codes, as well as applicable state and federal regulations.
Must possess strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
Computer literacy with Microsoft Office as well as industry related software such as Buzzsaw.
