The Associate VP for Campus Planning & Facilities Management is responsible for providing sound leadership and strategic vision for campus planning and facilities management departments and represents the university's interests to various governing boards, including city, county, and other local jurisdictions, and the state legislature. The Associate VP develops the facilities master plan and participates in the development of the university's 10 year capital construction plan for university leadership, Board of Trustees, HEC Board, OFM and legislature.
- Provides executive level leadership/management/oversight for the Facilities Management departments of more than 160 staff and $15,000,000 in operational budgets. - Makes sound financial decisions concerning the operation and maintenance of campus wide buildings, grounds and infrastructure. - As an appointing authority, this position exercises signatory and contracting authority. - Provides executive leadership/management/oversight for the planning, design and construction of capital development projects, remodeling/renovation projects, space management, real estate, construction/infrastructure projects, and the related operational activities. - Provides leadership in the development of and requests for biennial capital project funding and is a key participant in the creation and implementation of 10 year university capital plan. Funding levels vary from $20,000,000 to over $100,000,000 per biennia depending on funding. - Provides overall planning/support and leadership for university wide services in energy management/conservation, sustainability, carbon reduction, communication team, site and development committee and campus master planning. - Represents Facilities Management, the University in community, regional, state and national meetings, presentations, etc. - May represent the VP of Operation in local, regional and national venues.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and six years upper management experience and commensurate responsibility in facilities operations.
Demonstrated ability to develop and facilitate team development initiatives.
Ability to develop and execute innovative facilities improvement initiatives.
Demonstrated excellence in communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse constituencies.
Demonstrated ability to offer high quality construction and maintenance services within a constrained resources multiuser environment.
Active national certification in facilities management.
Active involvement in national educational facilities management professional organizations.
Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, business management, or closely related field.
Master's degree in business administration or public policy

Working Conditions: Work is performed in an indoor office setting with frequent in-person interactions. It is essential to be able to remain at a desk/computer work station for prolonged periods of time, perform extensive data entry and other computer-related tasks and create/maintain filing systems for departmental records. Some evening or weekend work and/or occasional travel may be required. Due to the nature of the work, the employee may be exposed to conditions, climates, and hazards associated with the maintenance, operations, and construction of facilities and grounds.
