Brixmor’s VP, Construction has overall responsibility for construction activities in our South Region. The VP ensures construction meets standards and timeframes within budgets, manages internal and external resources, provides advice and technical expertise on proposed projects and monitors quality and quantity of work performed on projects.
Specific role responsibilities include – •Supervises a team of six including construction project managers, administrative staff and tenant coordinator with potential for team growth •Project volume includes up to 20 redevelopments, 25 tenant fit outs and various capex projects simultaneously with majority managed by team and some managed directly by VP (e.g. some large scale capex work, large tenant fit outs and key redevelopments) •Provides front-end estimating for feasibility of projects •Serves as a leader in the region partnering with other South region VPs of Leasing, Legal and Property Management as well as regional President •Travels to project sites as needed, typically 4 to 5 times each month The ideal candidate should have: •Minimum ten years’ construction experience predominantly in retail sector and preferably for an owner/landlord alternatively, may have experience with a retailer when scope included ground up/pad work •Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering or construction management •Highly organized and proven track record driving schedules and managing multiple complex projects at once •Solid time management with ability to prioritize and successfully balance multiple tasks and requests •Team player who takes pride in ownership and seeks opportunity for continual personal/professional growth •Natural leader with demonstrated high level communication skills; effective manager and strong work ethic •Ability to engage and interact across all levels of an organization •Attention to detail
Minimum 10 years experience preferably in retail sector
