Systems Consulting, LLC (SCL), an engineering and project management consulting firm, is seeking electrical and systems engineers to join our Quality Assurance Management team in Seattle, Washington. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of experience in quality assurance in complex transportation systems-related work.
The Quality Assurance Manager (QAM) will develop and conduct construction quality assurance (QA) audits, construction design and contract document reviews, and surveillances for civil engineering projects. The Construction Contract Packages will include the systems work for the installation of signaling, traction power stations, overhead catenary (OCS), SCADA, and communications systems for several transportation systems projects. These projects are highly complex and involve close coordination of work and access between the Civil Contractors and the Systems Contractors. Demonstrated written and oral communication skills are required.
The QA team, headed by the QAM, will need to prepare audits for the installation of three major transportationsystem elements – 26kV Distribution (station) and Traction Electrification, Signals, and Communications. The QAM will also be responsible for reviewing the integration, testing and commissioning of all systems elements and ensuring a seamless integration to the existing systems (hardware and software). The Systems QAM shall develop, formalize, and implement a Quality Assurance Program emphasizing thorough and complete documentation of all quality assurance activities.
Qualified candidates will have a mix of proven experience among the following: an experienced technical leader in the transportation industry. Electrical engineering experience including rail, transportation design, quality oversight, site development, underground and above ground engineering design, systems, equipment, vehicles, and SCADA. Includes the development of quality plans, specifications, monthly reports, quality assurance manuals, and technical memoranda.
Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering, or a related field, 7 years of proven experience in quality assurance or project management in the transportation industry, specifically on systems, facilities, rail, and/or mass transit. Professional Engineer license and certification from the American Society for Quality as a Quality Auditor are strongly preferred.
