The NCE Organization at BASF has an opportunity for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer at our Freeport, TX location. NCE provides functional leadership and offers services for technical design, construction, maintenance, and optimization of plants in pursuit of Operational Excellence.
This is a developmental position responsible for providing mechanical engineering expertise to an assigned are of the site. It is also responsible for collaboration with Production and Maintenance personnel and providing services related to design review, repair and maintenance, including predictive/preventative maintenance activities.
Additionally, this position provides technical support for Root Cause Failure Analyses, troubleshooting of problems, and monitoring PM and PdM programs. Finally, this position ensures a culture of continuous improvement employing LEAN Manufacturing tools.
Mechanical Maintenance Engineer I (1704682) – Freeport, TX
Formula for Success: You Will...
Provide technical support to Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, specialists, and craftsmen on difficult equipment repair issues.
Offer troubleshooting support and recommendations to operating units on equipment reliability, including emergency work reviews.
Participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis and execute corrective actions for complex and/or repetitive problems.
Serve in the "Bad Actor" program and create action plans for improving reliability.
Support the reliability processes to drive improvements, optimize costs and improve asset effectiveness (e.g, Bad Actor Management, FMEA, RBI, RBM, RCM, Reliability Roadmap).
Establish, monitor and optimize Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) plans.
Evaluate new technologies and alternatives for equipment repair, seeking cost and delivery advantages.
Support capital projects by supplying engineering expertise in the specification, design, and construction of projects in accordance with plant design requirements, BASF standards, and regulatory requirements.
