Responsible for recording capital asset activity in the general ledger including purchases, disposals, and depreciation; review of repairs and maintenance and; tracking and capitalizing construction project costs. Initiate and record debt principal and interest payments and assist with debt compliance requirements. Prepare financial statement and Federal Form 990 disclosures related to capital assets and debt. Perform various duties related to the College's cash management activities. Process journal entries, prepare various general ledger account reconciliations, and maintain system user security.
Record capital asset purchases and disposals in the accounting system. Record depreciation and develop depreciation budgets and forecasts. Track construction project costs; capitalize and assign useful lives upon completion. Assist with the development of policies, procedures, and forms for accounting and safeguarding of capital assets. Coordinate with the purchasing department to update and maintain the capital asset database including asset tagging, physical inventories, transfers, and dispositions. Process debt principal and interest payments, swap payments, and rating, remarketing, and LOC fees. Accounting and record retention for debt compliance; maintain schedule of compliance due dates; work directly with outside providers to complete required reporting. Prepare debt service budgets and forecasts. Record daily cash activity in the general ledger; process daily wires and ACH transactions. Maintain and monitor daily cash flow and on-line banking transactions including stop payments and NSF checks. Reconcile cash and short-term investment accounts. Review and post dining, bookstore and other POS feeds; work directly with departments to resolve any differences. Process journal entries; prepare monthly reconciliation of various general ledger accounts. General ledger and user security maintenance in PeopleSoft. Other duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Accounting and a minimum of 2 years relevant experience, preferably in a higher education environment. Experience working with ERP systems; able to evolve and adapt to system changes. Proficient in Excel, with experience using other applications in the MS Office Suite (e.g.Word).
