This is a temporary position from April 3, 2018 - April 25, 2018, which pays a $2,300 stipend.
To be responsible for the implementation of scenery and properties and the supervision of production spaces for the St. Olaf College Theater; and to oversee the supervision of student workers in the Scene Shop working on the construction of scenery and properties for Semester II Theater Department productions.
Responsible for the execution of production elements for the St. Olaf Theater productions taking place during Semester II, 2018
Train, teach, and supervise student work staff and practicum students
Ensure safe working practices in production areas
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
Knowledge of the elements involved in liberal arts training.
Ability to effectively teach concepts of theater production and design.
Skill in the technical abilities used in planning, construction, materials, and techniques.
Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
Ability to stay organized while changing priorities and remaining busy.
Skill in using standard computer skills, standard office applications, and design & production related software (CADD, networking, Audio, Lighting, video & projections, graphics).
Ability to creatively problem-solve a variety of situations
Ability to maintain records of purchases and skill at budgeting.
Experience with wood and metal working tools and materials.
Experience in managing and guiding technical and final rehearsals for theater productions
