DUTIES: This position reports to the Director of Design and Construction. Responsibilities include meeting with Campus Administrators to develop project scope, programming, budgets, schedules and the coordination of project activities with Hospital and Academic Leadership. Have a demonstrable understanding of electrical and general construction drawings. Able to provide interpretation, review and commentary of submissions for conceptual planning, design and construction documentation for projects within Design and Construction. Participation in the selection process for Contractors and Consultants for various projects, supervision of Electrical Design Consultants, managing Contractors for Hospital and Academic electrical renovation projects. Develops Infection Control Risk Assessments before and enforces Interim Life Safety Measures during construction. Perform site inspections, attend meetings and prepare periodic progress reports. Ensure that applicable codes are observed in design documents for both Hospital and Academic projects including but not limited to New York State Electrical Code, SUCF Program Directives, SUNY Sustainability requirements and NYS Executive Order Directives. Works closely with Physical Plant in establishing Design Safety & Quality Assurance Standards. Supports Physical Plant on technical assessments and troubleshooting. (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE ABOVE POSITION DESCRIPTION) QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Electrical Engineering degree with 5 - 7 years' work experience in electrical design and construction, preferably in Hospital and/or Academic environment. Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Microsoft Project, familiar with facilities management software, and AutoCAD. Good writing and verbal communications skills. Licensed Electrical Engineer a plus. Additional Info: * Represents Location Pay for full-time appointees. Hours of work: 9am - 5 pm; Days of week: variable; Hours per week: 37.5.
