The Assistant Director is responsible for providing oversight of dining projects which fall within the outsourced contract framework. This position will provide a level of oversight to ensure the highest level of service for the students, faculty and staff on campus.
Responsibilities: -DINING OVERSIGHT: Provide oversight to the assessment of the facilities by the contracted vendor with regard to any dining project (planned or unplanned) through a key performance index. -CONTRACT INTERPRETATION: Provide contract interpretation of the dining contracts including all dining related projects. Serve as liaison between TAMU and contracted vendor on dining related projects. -QUALITY ASSURANCE: Inspect work to insure proper University procedures are being followed. Provide oversight of development and execution of Quality Assurance program. -PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Work with the Campus Architect on special projects as deemed necessary. Work with TAMUS Facilities Planning and Construction as project manager for campus dining projects as specified. -REPORTING: Provide periodic reports relative to progress, timeline, and project costs. -OTHER DUTIES: Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience: -Bachelors degree in applicable field or Equivalent combination of education and experience. -Six years of related experience in management.
PERFERRED: More than 6 years of responsible management experience, preferably in higher education. Preferred prior experience with University dining programs.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: -Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet and database programs. Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others. Ability to comprehend and apply rules and regulations. Ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner. Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
PREFERRED: Knowledge of contract management, meal plans, convenience store operations, catering, and point-of-sale systems. Demonstrated ability to interact with students and parents. Knowledge of dining construction and equipment.
Other Requirements: Effectively interacts with staff, students, and faculty of both genders, all races, ethnicities, and backgrounds in conducting daily workplace duties and strives to provide excellent customer service. Promotes and contributes to a safe working environment by reporting accidents and unsafe working conditions, uses proper personal protective equipment, follows safety procedures, and participates in safety training. Represents the Division to internal and external customers by actively supporting diversity. Completes all applicable Federal, State, System, and University training requirements in a timely manner.
