Position Summary: The NJ Technology Advisory Network (TAN) is a one-of-a-kind, one-year grant from the NJ Department of Labor and Workforce Development (LWD). TAN serves 10 different Talent Networks (TN) each of which addresses the workforce needs of a different industry sector or NJ region. The special mission of the TAN is to provide the Directors of these 10 Talent Networks with the information they need to ensure sector-specific companies and partners are up-to-date on possible technology augmentations/applications. The TAN, TNs and other LWD grant programs are cornerstones of a comprehensive workforce development strategy that contributes to NJ’s economic growth. NJIT Continuing Professional Education (CPE) has been selected to host the TAN in 2018 and seeks to hire two full-time TAN Directors. The technology consulting services provided by the TAN Directors are geared to the following TNs representing 8 different industry sectors: • Advanced Manufacturing • Health Care • Construction / Utilities, North and South (2 TNs) • Life Sciences • Financial Services • Retail, Hospitality and Tourism, North and South (2 TNs) • Food Industry • Transportation, Logistics and Distribution. Reporting to the NJIT CPE Associate Vice President, the TAN Directors must be knowledgeable about high tech, IT and STEM developments in and outside NJ and about the key characteristics of each of the 8 industry sectors above. Prerequisite Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required, Knowledge of LWD programs and policies, public workforce system agencies, and of K-12 and higher educational institutions helpful. Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in a STEM and/or IT capacity along with project coordination and liaison experience. This position requires regular travel and communication with clients. Driver's license required.
