Assist with maintaining and preserving beautiful and sustainable campus grounds in a safe and orderly manner. Tasks include, but are not limited to, mowing, trimming, and edging grass; raking and collecting leaves; seeding, fertilizing, planting, pruning, weeding, mulching and watering trees, shrubs and flowers; shoveling snow; spreading salt, cinders and sand; and operating grounds equipment. Assist with proper maintenance of tree and shrub care, landscape beds, bioswales, ponds, parking lots, storm water drains, walking paths, trails, and other campus venues.
Mow grass. Trim, edge, and clear walkways. Seed and fertilize lawn. Plant, prune, weed, mulch and water trees, shrubs, flowers, plants, bulbs and maintain beds. Leaf removal. Pond and storm waterway maintenance.
Maintain parking lots, roadways, walkways, paths, walking trails, athletic courts and fields, outdoor seating/furniture, and road signs. Tasks include but are not limited to: collect trash and debris, remove branches, leaves, and weeds. Remove snow, spread salt, cinders and sand. Seal coat, stripe, paint, and complete minor repairs to paved areas and surfaces.
Operate, maintain, and assist with upkeep of grounds equipment (tractors, mowers, seeders, sprayers, chainsaws, weed eaters, blowers and pruning tools.) Tasks include but not limited to: clean, maintain, and update equipment.
Deliver supplies to campus departments and assist with event set-up/tear down.
Assist maintenance services with construction projects such as: painting, carpet and flooring removal/installation, concrete work, etc. Pump water out of manholes and off rooftops. Assume custodial responsibilities. Move furniture, equipment, and other campus supplies, assist with proper removal of hazardous waste.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
Unpleasant working conditions are: contact with hazardous chemicals, unpleasant odors, loud noise, hot and cold temperatures, and dusty conditions.
