The department of Design and Construction at Syracuse University is seeking to hire a Project Manager/Accounting Assistant to provide administrative and accounting support to multiple project managers for all construction and renovation projects managed by Campus Planning, Design, and Construction, from project initiation to project completion.
Projects can range from simple to complex, may span multiple years, budget range from thousands to millions of dollars. Projects funded in full or in part by grant and gift funds require a higher level of attention to detail, as well as institutional knowledge. Maintain project budget/cost records, perform daily reconciliation of project commitments and expense to the general ledger and to the project manager cost control sheets. Analysis of project expense and variances, to resolve differences and inaccuracies of charges.
Participates and supports the project managers and executive leadership in the estimated final projection process which analyzes current project budgets and expense and forecasts anticipated additional expense to 6/30 financial year end, to continually monitor the cash spend is within authorized budget.
Position requires proficiency in all MS Office applications, Outlook, Internet Explorer, PeopleSoft General Ledger and Purchasing applications, Newforma, OnBase, and the FAMIS Capital Project Accounting System.
