The successful candidate will demonstrate ability to effectively teach undergraduate courses and laboratories. Student advising, supervision of student project teams, course assessment and other administrative assignments as assigned are also required duties.
Candidates must be able to work independently and with a diverse team; demonstrate excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills; and be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment that serves a diverse student population as well as faculty, alumni, and employers. As such, candidates must be able to operate within and help create an inclusive environment that facilitates student learning and development.
Minimum Experience / Education:
UNC Charlotte gives primary consideration to the earned masters and/or terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline.
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
Candidates must have a Master of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, engineering management, construction management, construction science, or related degree to qualify for a lecturer position. Candidates with an earned doctorate in one of the fields listed above may qualify for Assistant Professor of Teaching rank.
Candidates with industry, engineering or construction experience managing projects and work teams are desired. Preferred qualifications include two or more years of professional work experience in an engineering or construction position and prior teaching experience.
