PROJECT MANAGER, MIT Museum, to serve as the central person responsible for coordinating all of the details of the construction documents, procurement, construction, fit-out, occupancy, and close-out phases of the MIT Museum at Kendall Square project; and for the development, monitoring, and management of procurement and fit-out budgets. The MIT Museum, working with MIT Facilities and the architects, is in process of planning the new Museum at Kendall Square, scheduled to open in 2021. Design development has been completed and the next phases of the project require management within the Museum and in coordination with Facilities, leading to completion. Will act as the liaison to MIT Facilities; work closely with the Facilities project manager, architects, the construction firm on the delivery of this capital project; and work with a range of outside vendors for the fit-out. Will report to the Museum director.
Job Requirements REQUIRED: an undergraduate degree in architecture, civil engineering, construction management, or related field; at least five years' experience in capital project management that includes a significant museum project; demonstrated ability to manage new construction and fit-out projects of high complexity through to completion; experience with budgeting and value engineering for a multimillion dollar project; superior communication skills; ability form and motivate teams, achieve productivity, identify and resolve any issues, operate in a fast-paced environment, and manage competing priorities; well-developed organizational and analytical skills; meticulous attention to detail; and familiarity with Microsoft Office and project management software.
