As the Manager of Actuarial Consulting, you will manage project teams in the delivery of consulting services involving complex mathematical analyses and actuarial modeling. You'll provide actuarial direction and strategy that strikes a balance between growth and profitability goals. Primary Responsibilities:Mentor and develop an elite team of consulting actuaries Lead negotiations, presentations and client relationships Develop the organization's premium rate structure through the forecasting of financial/statistical data Analyze financial and claims data to evaluate utilization and unit price trends Design ad hoc health cost analyses Perform quantitative analysis of actuarial, financial, utilization and costs data In this role, you'll need to bring it all, everyday. You'll lead an actuarial team, managing large projects and managing complex work streams while providing actuarial direction and supporting pricing strategies for our products.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree ASA or FSA Actuarial Credential 10+ years of healthcare actuarial experience with at least 5 years in a Medicare or Medicaid Actuarial role Desire to actively develop and pursue sales opportunities as part of teams Ability to speak credibly to current industry issues, regulatory and competitive challenges, and practices regarding the government services market Proven problem solving skills (identification of issue, causes, solution, implementation plan) Strong ability to influence, motivate and correct others in a positive, constructive and respectful wayAbility to travel as needed up to 50% when necessaryCareers with Optum.
