Position is responsible for instructing secondary school students in the field of electricity and in the proper care and use of electrical and renewable energy equipment. Position motivates students to develop an interest in and an appreciation of the electricity field. Position develops knowledge, skills, and talents of students, utilizing a variety of instructional techniques appropriate to students’ interests and abilities.
Must possess a high school diploma and possess a minimum of three years of verifiable experience within the last five years in an electronics trade. Must have a journeyman’s license, with a master electrician license preferred. Must have working knowledge of installing and troubleshooting solar panels and hydrogen fuel cells and an in-depth knowledge of electronics and electricity, both AC and DC. Must qualify for a Virginia Department of Education Teaching License to teach electronics courses.
