This position functions as a Mason Supervisor with responsibility for overall management of assigned projects; the review, organization, planning and carryout of construction and maintenance/repair work assigned to the zone shop; and supervision of the shop’s employees. The Mason Shop is responsible for providing total maintenance service and repair to all campus buildings including; building masonry walks, steps, ramps, all general concrete work, brick sidewalks, various rock wall repairs, all types of masonry tile repairs and step nosing on campus buildings.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalency and two years of experience in trade(s) areas assigned; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Demonstrated journey level experience in masonry. Ability to use a computer to perform tasks in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet Explorer, which are used to create material take-off lists, complete purchase requisitions for needed materials, perform time keeping functions, spreadsheets, work requests etc. Ability to serve as a mandatory employee and report to work in support of mandatory University operations, even when adverse weather or other emergency conditions, including but not limited to a public health emergency, require the University to close.
The preferred candidate will have at least five years of experience in supervision, and a minimum of ten years journey level demonstrated competencies in the masonry trade.
