Manages the development, implementation, and administration of the JEA physical security program. In support of organizational goals, and senior leadership directives, manages the selection, application, and operational life-cycle of the physical and fire protection systems employed at JEA properties to safeguard against criminal activities, or other circumstances, that have the potential to endanger or disrupt JEA assets and services. Manages physical security maintenance program to include supervision of direct reports charged with preventative and corrective services. This duty includes responsibility for periodic performance appraisals, quality control metrics, and professional development programs for all direct reports.
This position will represent JEA in local, state, and national forums relative to physical security strategies in the utility industry.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Management or related field.
Experience: Ten (10) years of successful business experience in managing physical and fire protection systems and projects, including design, construction and/or administration of large-scale integrated fire and/or security systems.
An equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training.
A valid driver’s license is required prior to employment and must be maintained during employment.
Professional certification as a Physical Security Professional (PSP) must be obtained within twelve (12) months and must be maintained during employment in this classification.
ICS 300 & 400 certifications must be obtained within one (1) year of employment.
Security clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a “SECRET” clearance as determined by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
Professional certification with AMAG Technology and GSI Video Surveillance Systems must be obtained within one (1) year of employment.
Burglar Alarm/Fire Alarm System Agent (BASA/FASA) certification must be obtained within one (1) year of employment.
