The Facility RenewalCoordinator is part of the Facilities, Plant Operations, Building MaintenanceDepartment at Vanderbilt University and is a key individual contributorresponsible for coordinating the University's Facility Renewal Process and willbe the primary Asset Coordinator for Facilities Plant Operations. This positionwill work with key stakeholders to present the facility renewal list.
Plant Operationsprovides facilities support for all construction, renovation, and routinemaintenance of University Central space and facilities; housekeeping servicesfor approximately 5.8 million square feet of academic, administrative,residential, and recreational space; grounds care for 330 acres that are aregistered arboretum; turf care for athletic fields; and utilities for theUniversity Central and the Medical Center.
Facilities annual budgetexceeds $100 million in operating expenses and includes over 400employees. Facilities manages major capital project expenditurestotaling ~$125 million annually and facility renewal, replacement and largemaintenance project expenditures totaling ~$20 million annually.
Serve as Primary Asset Coordinator for Facilities Plant Operations
Utilize the work management system (AiM) to maintain lists of all assets, such as roofs, HVAC units, etc.
Establish a timeline and process for validating assets on a periodic basis
Coordinate with Facilities Campus Planning & Construction to obtain asset additions, deletions and updates
Coordinate with managers when assets are replaced
Determine the method to have an asset associated with every phase of a work order within AiM.
Coordinate the Facility Renewal Process
Maintain list of all facility renewal projects for each building on campus
Coordinate with other stakeholders to add, edit, and archive projects
Meet with stakeholders to present renewal lists and prioritize based on budget and need
Filter and distribute facility renewal list as needed
This position does nothave supervisory responsibility and reports administratively and functionallyto the Preventative Maintenance Manager.
Profile of an IdealCandidate
High school diploma orGED is necessary.
Some college ispreferred.
Project managementexperience is preferred.
Proficient in MicrosoftOffice products (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, and Word) isnecessary.
Strong written andverbal communication skills is necessary.
Ability to read andinterpret construction documents is necessary.
Understanding of theconstruction process is strongly preferred.
Basic understanding ofMechanical, Electrical and Plumbing systems and their respectivecomponents is strongly preferred.
Construction estimatingknowledge is strongly preferred.
