Program Assistant II - Facilities & Services 09325
The Parking Management unit within the Division of Facilities & Services is seeking applications for a Program Assistant II position. This position is responsible for functioning as team lead for Parking Management staff. This position collects and reconciles all cash, coin, and credit card revenue accounts of customers' parking permits and citations. This will also serve as adjudication officer for parking citation appeals, handles all customer service related issues, and coordinates special event parking on campus.
In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will:
Lead the parking management office team by providing guidance, training and development to staff as required. Delegate work assignments to those individuals assigned to the team to ensure work is completed in a timely fashion ensuring proper quality and quantity.
Inspect completed work assignments and help to ensure quality control. Ensure the proper policies and procedures are used while performing job assignments.
Provide excellent customer service and display empathy with our customers, even under the most trying of emotional conditions. Provide information to visitors, staff, faculty and students concerning parking rules and regulations and safety and securely practices.
Be able to work unsupervised and make decisions on demand and short notice. Work as a liaison to AD to conduct performance appraisals and staff scheduling. Make recommendations to the AD to address performance and disciplinary matters.
Be responsible for permit sales and citation fine revenues from customers. Maintain accurate balance for all funds collected in accordance with WVU fund handling and WV state policies.
Independently make decisions to resolve customer and other parking related issues as well as providing accurate/timely responses.
Account for all funds received for parking related activities and must balance/reconcile all entries daily.
Assign and issue permits for both campuses where parking is available. In the absence of revenue staff, count and reconcile all funds collected by the parking management office, PRT, and short-term parking. Prepare for deposit/pick up of carrier as needed.
Oversee/serve as adjudication officer for all appeals and delegate this activity as needed. This consists of using the Parking Management software system to view appeals, pictures and citation history entered online and judging the basis of the appeal.
Be responsible for coordination of special request event parking on campus. Maintain accurate records of special parking requests to ensure adequate space is available for the permit holders. This may include, but not limited to conferences, athletic events, meetings and special events, etc.
Coordinate with the requesting department and or individual for all parking needs. Advise Parking Management of necessary provisions that will be need coordinated for special parking.
Assist with movelist/waitlist for all WVU parking lots. Perform validations/gate operations to include proxy activations/deactivations, and other duties as assigned.

Pay Grade: 13 , WVU provides competitive wages for its employees, and takes experience and related education into consideration when determining appropriate salary
Associates Degree of over 18 months, up to 3 years beyond high school, or an equivalent amount of directly related experience.
At least one (1) year of experience in the following:
Directly related experience in high volume cash handling operations
Fund handling and basic accounting
Preferred computer experience with various financial systems and software
WVU Funds Handling Certification (must be obtained within 30 days of hire date)
