PROJECT MANAGER FOR RESIDENTIAL RENEWAL , Housing and Residential Services , to be responsible for coordinating a range of projects and special initiatives that advance the strategic priorities of the department. Will provide support to Housing and Residential Services (HRS) capital renewal and construction projects, using tools and strategies to ensure project deadlines and budgets are met; develop comprehensive project plans and schedules; track all project requests from houses and assist with processing of project prioritization; participate in identifying and implementing strategies for resolving of issues that arise with various projects; coordinate regular meetings with house leadership--including students--throughout renewal projects and coordinate all relocation logistics; and maintain key relationships with numerous internal and external constituents to support renewal and renovation projects across MIT's residential system. Will report to the senior director of Housing Operations and Renewal Planning and work closely with MIT's HRS team. The position involves regular and frequent contact with members of the Division of Student Life, house teams (heads of house, area directors, house operations managers, graduate resident tutors, house governments), Department of Facilities, Environmental Health and Safety, members of the MIT community, vendors, and city/state/federal agencies.
REQUIRED : bachelor's degree (master's desirable); at least three years' experience managing complex projects involving numerous constituents; strong organizational and project management skills; ability to work effectively with a diverse population of students, faculty and staff; diplomacy and tact when handling sensitive information and situations; constructive problem solving skills; attention to detail; and ability to effectively follow through on complex projects.
