Mead & Hunt, Inc., a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has a position available for a technology systems designer. Responsibilities include designing communication and security infrastructure and layout of technology rooms for new and renovation projects; participating in technical meetings with clients, construction staff, and project team members and preparing the meeting documentation; assisting with review of reports, specifications, plans, schedules, and studies; assisting with developing construction cost estimates; performing construction administration tasks and site inspections. Regular travel will be required.
The successful candidate must have all of the following: associate degree (or higher) in technology design, engineering technology, or architectural engineering with a technology emphasis, or related field; and at least five years of relevant experience related to building design, technology systems preferred. If no degree, at least seven years of direct, relevant experience related to building design, with at least four years of technology systems experience.
The ideal candidate shall have experience with any/all of the following: the documentation process and design of building information and communications technology (ICT) systems involving new and/or building renovation projects; leading design efforts and initiatives related to technology systems for buildings; participating in technical meetings with clients, project team, etc.; developing construction cost estimates; construction administration and site visits. The ideal candidate will have the Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI) Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) and/or American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) Certified Protection Professional (CPP) certification or be able to obtain one of these certifications within two years of hire date.
