Project Engineer (1804077) – Suffolk, VA
Where the Chemistry Happens
We are seeking a professional like you to join our Technical Engineering Services (TES) team in Suffolk, VA. Here the team is continuously improving our ability to execute the capital plan for the production plants and infrastructure at our location. This position is critical to the continuation of these efforts and in this role, you will be key in the continued efficient and cost-effective execution of capital projects.

Formula for Success
Leveraging your education in an Engineering discipline and professional hands-on or technical experience in a plant setting, you will develop project scope, generate and/or obtain cost estimates, and prepare appropriation funding requests. Additionally, you will ensure appropriate project safety reviews are completed as required, both before and after approval and utilize applicable value improving practices (VIPs) to optimize project scope and costs.
Successfully engaging inside and outside the organization, you will cultivate partnerships with assigned project manufacturing representatives to execute projects from initial scoping and funding to final documentation and closure.
Utilizing your strong project management experience, you will monitor and support construction activities to ensure that projects are completed according to the design deliverables, quality standards, and plant requirements, and that pre-startup safety reviews are conducted. You will also follow-through to ensure Operations achieves a successful project startup, and that any project-related action items are completed.
Your proven organizational skills will be useful as you maintain SAP project data entries, monitor project progress through scheduling and other tools, perform project status reporting, and control spending through appropriate tracking, forecasting, and adjustments.
