Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Applications & Database Administrator is responsible for the administration and support of various local and cloud-based systems used by Dickinson College. Primary responsibility includes the management of Oracle, MySQL, and SQL Server database environments running on Linux and Windows servers in support of the Ellucian Banner ERP system, the associated data warehousing environment, and various ancillary and custom applications. Other responsibilities include managing application maintenance activity in support of systems comprising the ERP including: upgrades and patch installations, account maintenance, database backup & recovery, database security, system and database monitoring, database performance tuning, 3GL programming and compilation, data architecture, database programming, and capacity planning.
The Applications & Database Administrator is responsible for the ongoing installation, upgrade, configuration, issue resolution, and support of various administrative software solutions deployed on campus.

Bachelor’s degree in information science or related field with1-3 years of experience required in one or more of the following:
relational database concepts,
A thorough knowledge of all phases of database design and programming language constructs is required.
Good oral and written communication skills with both technical and non-technical users.
Ability to work within a team-oriented environment.
Experience in a college or university setting is preferred.
