JOB SUMMARY: The LIHEAP energy service technician will be responsible for prioritizing and registering energy assistance applications and assisting with crisis energy program coordination as needed.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Monitor electric and hard copy program service documentation to ensure appropriate information has been documented. 2. Maintain tracking system to oversee county funding allocations for the LIHEAP Program. 3. Assist with batching and payment notification for crisis energy program. 4. Assist with mail out of designated applications. 5. Prioritize and register energy assistance applications into statewide processing system. 6. Ensure application registrations and completions are up to date according to program guidelines 7. Enter data into the program data systems. 8. Ensure all applications are entered into paperless system. 9. Ensure accurate and timely data entry. 10. File energy assistance applications and applicant verifications into electronic filing system. 11. Assist in the day-to-day clerical operations including typing of letters, reports, memorandums and announcements. 12. Perform other duties as required. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: 1. Ability to communicate effectively with and relate positively to clients, agency staff, and other social service agencies. 9. Ability to be a self-starter and work independently of direct supervision. 10. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. 11. Knowledge of general office procedures. 12. Ability to deal with confrontation in a constructive manner. 13. Ability to implement concepts learned from training. 14. Ability to attend work site regularly to perform job duties and responsibilities. 15. Ability to flex schedule to meet demands at different times of seasons and locations. 16. Ability to operate calculator and accurately calculate mathematical problems. 17. Ability to manage stress, organize time, and work priorities effectively and work independently of direct supervision. 18. Ability to effectively multi-task. 19. Ability to effectively work as a team member. 20. Ability to do paperwork accurately, completely and timely. 21. Good grasp of English language (spelling, punctuation, grammar). 22. Ability to dress is business attire.
QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED. One year of work experience in a position performing clerical functions in an office/service organization setting. Experience in human/social service organization preferred. Advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Office 2003 or newer. 2 years strong customer service background. Ability to accurately type 50 words per minute. Must have dependable transportation.
