The Assistant Director within Facilities and Dining Administration will be responsible for daily monitoring, data collection, and analysis of custodial and landscape services on campus. This position will be responsible for ensuring the University is receiving best value by our contracted vendor for custodial and landscape services. The position will review current processes and regularly evaluate the level of service provided to the University through inspections, data analysis, reports, and various other means. This position will also regularly complete fieldwork inspections for the contracts administered by the department. This position will be responsible for monitoring of all contract deliverables and working with our vendor to ensure proper compliance and service levels on campus
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelorâ™s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Six years of related experience in management.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to recognize safety hazards and react appropriately.
Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to comprehend and apply rules and regulations.

Position may require moderate lifting or moving of objects, and going into small, confined spaces. Position may also involve climbing, bending, reaching, etc. Position may also involve accessing roofs and other structures that may require climbing to heights above grade.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Experience with landscape and/or custodial operations at higher education facilities.
Experience with facility operations.
Experience working with customers in a large business or institutional setting.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of contract management.
Knowledge of work management software.
Knowledge of continuous improvement and/or process improvement.
Responsible for ensuring compliance for landscape and custodial related service contracts, which includes monitoring of deliverables, ensuring vendor is following all appropriate policies, procedures, laws, and regulations, inspections, and providing guidance to other departments on campus as needed with regards to landscape and custodial services.
Develops, continuously improves, and performs inspection/quality assurance process for service contracts related to custodial and landscape services. This may require going into small, confined spaces. This may require moderate lifting or moving of objects and may involve climbing, bending, reaching, etc. This may also involve accessing roofs and other structures that may require climbing to heights above grade.
Develops appropriate reports to monitor landscape and custodial contracts as appropriate.
Develops reports of inspections and findings to help facilitate a plan-of-action with management.
Analyzes KPI reports for action items.
Produces ad hoc reports upon request.
Serves as a custodial and landscape liaison, in conjunction with other members of the department, for plan review inclusive of design development, schematic design, and construction design to ensure compliance with campus facilities design guidelines with regards to landscape and custodial services.
Performs other duties as assigned.
