Team Rubicon is seeking a Lead Carpenter as part its post-disaster home repair and rebuilding in the Naples, FL area. This position serves a critical role in supporting the supervision and professional growth of their entry-level employees who supervise worksites. This role would further maintain a primary focus on ensuring worksites appropriately accommodate volunteer workforces.
Following Hurricane Irma, Team Rubicon is seizing the moment to engage not only in the immediate weeks after a disaster but also the many months following, often described as the long term recovery phase. Team Rubicon will expand its capabilities (services) to include the rebuild of homes affected by Hurricane Irma.
The ideal candidates will possess and have demonstrated ability to:
Comfortably use all building products
Read and understand blueprints and construction documents
Teach and mentor unskilled volunteers and/or entry-level staff in construction tasks

Perform all general residential construction tasks, including painting, drywall installation and finishing, rough carpentry, finish carpentry, flooring, general construction labor, and all other skills necessary for on-time job completion
Prepare selected properties for volunteer labor by ensuring all framing and exterior envelope are complete
Complete all miscellaneous work listed on final punch list as prepared by the Construction Superintendent
Conduct warranty call services, as required
Assist Superintendent with volunteer training as needed
Manage Volunteer Experience
Proactively ensure a positive experience for volunteers engaging in home rebuilds
Ensure volunteer requests are met with a spirit of professionalism and customer service
Looking to serve individuals affected by Hurricane Irma
Experience working in volunteer organizations a plus
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Extensive knowledge of residential construction
Knowledge of building code requirements
Excellent communication skills
Desire to teach construction and safety techniques
Patience; ability to lead and include people of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels
Energy and enthusiasm; ability to problem-solve, take initiative, and work with a minimum of supervision
Ability to perform physical work, which will include standing for long periods of time, working at heights up to 30 feet, and working outside in inclement weather
Ability to lift at least 50 lbs
This role will be based in Naples, FL or in an immediately surrounding community
This role will require frequent travel throughout the affected area
This role will require some evening and weekend work
