Responsibilities Include, but not limited to: • Working closely with the Manager of Engineering, Operations, Right of Way Supervisor and other staking engineers to set priorities for construction of system improvements in the current work Plan • Monitor coordinated protection performance and design, assist and recommend solutions to anomalies. • Consults with engineering and operation's personnel to plan, and implement alternate feed arrangements and switching operations to allow for voltage conversion, planned maintenance and power restoration. • Investigate, design and stake distribution lines, services, relocation and street lighting. Prepare necessary staking sheets to initiate required construction. • Provide advice and assistance to members and REA employees to assure compliance with RUS standards, code and overall member satisfaction. • Provide internal engineering and or technical support as required while complying with REA Energy Cooperative Safe Work Practice Manual. Qualifications Include: • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE or BSEET), 1-5 years of experience is required, preferably with an electric utility background. • Thorough knowledge of the principles and operation of distribution systems. • Excellent communication and presentation skills. Must be able to interact and communicate engineering designs to technical and non-technical personnel both within and outside the Cooperative. • Experience with computer networking, computer based mapping and SCADA systems is desired. • Serve as a member of an on-call team on a rotating basis for supervisory call-out duties as well as being available as needed during storm situations.
