This position will manage the maintenance, repair, and installation of campus utility meters. Commissioning of utility meters and connecting to data historian system. Assist senior plant electrical engineer with power plant electrical and control system maintenance, commissioning, engineering and management.
This position will engage in High Performance, leading edge practices, which are innovative in their approach to increased Stewardship and Service Excellence.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Electrical, Power or Controls engineering; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in Electrical, Power or Controls engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to obtain a State of Michigan PE license within the first five years of employment; State of Michigan PE license; experience in all aspects of the planning, design, and construction of Power Systems or controls as related to a Power Plant; ability to develop and interpret project documents (prints, contracts, etc.) and applicable fire, safety, building, mechanical, electrical, and health codes; Results oriented, with strong communication skills (oral and written), problem solving skills with good customer relations/service skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team.
A creative and innovative lifelong learner with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population; able to problem solve within a collaborative team environment; ability to understand different perspectives while utilizing expert knowledge of the technical operations of the job.
