JMT is seeking a Project Manager who will be responsible for: providing construction project oversite using knowledge of general engineering and construction principles and practices to interpret, organize, coordinate, communicate and execute assignments as necessary to accomplish the goals and objectives defined by the client, ensuring work is performed and completed in strict accordance with the contract documents, acting as a technical advisor to the Owner and other team members, teaching and mentoring less experienced engineers and other team members, and other tasks as may be required. The Project Manager will also be responsible for delivering for assigned projects including; scope, schedule and budget.
Essential functions and responsibilities:
Develop and maintain Project Management/Execution Plans (PMP) for assigned projects
Provide construction management oversight during all phases of the project
Create and maintain project schedules and master construction schedules
Develop Job-Specific Work Plans and Site Access & Staging Plans
Prepare, monitor and update schedules and budgets
Prepare and update cost estimates
Develop and manage project-specific QA/QC Programs
Manage and oversee project-specific Safety Plans
Conduct project meetings and status reporting with client, A/Es, contractors, and consultants.
Manage Instruction & Training, Project Close-Out, and facility turn-over to client operations
Manage sub-consultants and technical resources
Coordinate and interface with the client and project team
Prepare bid packages and assist with contractor procurement
Develop and coordinate project scopes
Oversee and manage assigned staff
Develop and prepare extra work order requests and open-end contract task proposals
Change Management including review, processing, and evaluation of contractor RFI, PCO, and Change Orders
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, architectural or a related field from an accredited engineering, construction management or architectural program
Professional Engineer License is a plus
CCM or PMP Certificate
10+ years’ field experience in managing construction, installation, and testing of rail facilities including track construction, installation and testing of related systems, and commissioning of building mechanical, structural, and electrical systems, preferably in an operating railroad system environment.
Knowledge of or experience with Primavera Contract Manager or similar CM application
