Schedule: Scheduling/Hours (Ex: M-F, 8am-5pm; overtime as necessary) 8-5, with some flexibility to work on weekends

1) Design and build learning lab environments based on faculty/instructor requirements for coursework
2) Provide technical support to faculty, instructors and students using the lab environments
3) Test and troubleshoot technical equipment and software.
4) Deliver, install and calibrate technical equipment in support of College operations and activities.
5) Demonstrate understanding of and participates in implementation of the philosophy and goals of the non-credit IT Certificate program.
6) Demonstrate respect for the student by communicating constructive feedback in appropriate ways.
7) Become familiar with the course content (intro level courses) and structure for all courses in IT certificate programs
8) Supplement the instruction students receive in class and support conceptual and homework questions through demonstration, practice and assistance
9) Assist students in thinking through learning environment and course content questions in support of their learning
10) Take ownership of the IT learning environment maintenance, upgrades, and strategies for enhancements
11) Work as part of a team

Vision demands include close, relatively detailed vision when focusing on a computer screen. Employee lifts or exerts force of varying weight of up to 50 pounds.
Working Conditions: Normal office working conditions. Employee is occasionally exposed to dirt, dust, debris, smells and outdoor weather conditions when moving or installing equipment. Employee is occasionally exposed to minor cuts, burns or other incapacitating injury and risk of electrical shock. Employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of: technical equipment components and functions; technical equipment installation processes. Skill in: communication and collaboration; performing basic level technical tasks; installing technical equipment; testing, troubleshooting and resolving basic level technical equipment operating problems; calibrating technical equipment; analytical thinking; application of job related computer software; operation of job-related equipment and other equipment; customer service. Ability to: train instructors on how to use course learning environments; develop and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, students, general public, and other job contacts; effectively work with persons of varying cultures and diversity; perform light physical labor for extended periods of time
Associate's Degree in a technical field of study closely related to the function of the position with at least one year experience in a closely related technical field. State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).
Preferred Qualifications: * Demonstrated hands-on IT experience * Demonstrated instruction/tutoring experience * Experience designing and supporting learning environments to meet course needs * Experience working with faculty to understand course technology environment needs * Experience providing technical support to faculty, instructors and students both in person and remotely * Familiarity with at least three of the following content areas, and interest in learning the others: Python, database/SQL, networking, Linux, java, statistics

About Columbus State Community College
Columbus State Community College has been meeting the diverse educational needs of the Central Ohio community for more than 50 years.
