1. Directly supervise the daily activities of non-exempt employees involved in facilities maintenance, courier services, mail, pharmacy delivery/stocking, medical supply par levels and various other building support services. Monitor performance, conduct the annual performance review and competency assessment process, provide feedback and coaching. Develop plans for ongoing training and make recommendations regarding the improvement of services. Develop and implements strategies and initiatives to meet organizational or regulatory standards. 2. Establish and foster positive and effective working relationships with Yale Health management, various University departments (Local 35 Custodial Services, Security, Telecom, ITS, etc.), as well as external vendors. Oversee and coordinate all contracted services. Establish on-site work priorities and schedules. 3. Conduct building inspections and coordinate repairs and maintenance with facilities and EHS. Ensure that work meets DPH building codes and OSHA requirements. 4. Coordinate and monitor medical equipment inventory and preventive maintenance program. Oversee the delivery of vendor services and repairs for equipment. 5. Serve as a primary point of contact to Yale Health staff regarding telecommunications services and technological advancements. Monitor and maintain telecommunications inventory, upgrades, repairs and billing. 6. Interact with internal customers, determine routine maintenance and service levels and provide cost-effective and efficient fulfillment of these needs. Review requests and project requirements. Determine schedule, work methods and procedures. 7. Work collaboratively with the University Facilities/Physical Plant departments and coordinate the evaluation and provision of services to meet all Yale Health maintenance, repair, minor renovation and construction needs. Ensure that all renovation or maintenance activities are in alignment with regulatory guidelines and that disruption to clinical operations is minimized. 8. Identify opportunities for operational improvement. Assist with the design and implementation of policies and procedures related to building services. 9. Oversee and coordinate the provision of administrative support to the environment of care program. 10. Serve as an active member on Infection Control, Environment of Care, Work Place Violence Prevention, Joint Commission teams and Emergency Preparedness Committees. May serve on other committees, as necessary.
Preferred Education: Working knowledge of Joint Commission Environment of Care standards; knowledge of EPA and OSHA Regulations; knowledge of the University's structure, organization, policies and procedures; previous experience in emergency management planning; familiarity with construction trades and practices including ADA Guidelines.
