The Maintenance & Operations (M&O) Supervisor is responsible with managing and providing supervision to crew supervisors overseeing multiple crews for the Sewer Utility and Stormwater Divisions of Kitsap County Public Works (KCPW). The position provides technical expertise and oversees the planning, organizing, and scheduling of the operations, maintenance, repair, and retrofit (upgrade) construction for sewer and stormwater collection/conveyance and water quality systems. Responsible for the completion of preventative maintenance duties and construction projects in accordance with county, state and federal regulations and requirements and industry standards. Knowledgeable in all aspects of constructing sewer and stormwater collection/conveyance systems including equipment operation, trench safety and excavation, road construction, and other underground utilities. Develops and maintains annual budgets, manages resources, and assists in the planning and forecasting of asset repair and replacement. The position is responsible for the safety, training, evaluating, and coaching of crews to meet program objectives and performance goals. The M&O Supervisor coordinates activities and works closely with all divisions within KCPW.
Required Education and Experience
Five years of progressively responsible work experience in the operation and maintenance of sanitary sewer or stormwater system maintenance, construction, repair and replacement; AND
Two years of lead worker/supervisory experience; or
Any equivalent combination of experience and education that provides the applicant with the desired knowledge, skills and ability required to perform the work.
Preferred Education, Experience or Other Qualifications.
Vocational or related college courses.
Driving Requirements The successful incumbent must meet the driving requirements of this position and submit a copy a current driving record/abstract (from state of residency) to review for eligibility to drive for Kitsap County prior to employment. The successful incumbent must obtain a valid Washington State Driver's License prior to hire and maintain a satisfactory driving record as outlined in the Kitsap County Vehicle Use Policy. This position is categorized as a Category 1 Driver and operates County-owned vehicle.
