Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform prepping and finishing of cabinets for new campus construction as well as to fit existing areas and renovations.
Conduct repairs to existing furniture and cabinets.
Prepare, prime, and paint interior and exterior walls and surfaces.
Perform finishing work and installation of cabinetry, painting of buildings, fixtures, equipment with a brush or spray gun and finishing drywall.
Provide assistance with departmental estimates, procurements, work order assignments, and time card entry in immediate supervisor’s absence.
Communicate and interact well with other employees and departments. Professional communication with customers for overall customer satisfaction. Assist customer in determining the best solution and materials for completion of the job to ensure customer satisfaction.
Identify and resolve potential safety problems and unsafe work practices. Inform supervisor of unusual safety concerns and makes recommendations for resolution. Determine appropriate protective equipment based on established standards. Regularly assess site and shop operations for safety.
Completion of grammar school and 2 years of progressive experience in the preparation and finishing of cabinetry and painting of interior and exterior walls; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
