Care Site Description
Under limited supervision, the mechanic is responsible for various maintenance and repair duties and all equipment to operate the hospital. Performs snow removal. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Performs preventive maintenance as appropriate and as needed in a timely manner. Completes a record card for each job, or call hours as required.
Completes assigned work orders as appropriate with high quality and in a timely manner.
Inspects and tests fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, life safety code related items according to the schedule on time and documentation.
Assists as needed with all minor repairs on plumbing, walls, floor tile, baseboards and ceiling tiles.
Ensures that the sprinkler system is operating properly on an ongoing basis during the spring, summer and fall months.
Keeps sidewalks clean and clear of snow and ice as needed. Picks up debris on exterior or premises.
Competently performs various carpentry and painting tasks as requested.
Education: High school graduation or GED preferred.
Experience: Two (2) years of building & construction related experiences preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities: Prefer the following skills: Electrical, plumbing, carpentry, heating, cooling systems and steam boiler. This position may require interaction with people of all ages; therefore, the employee must have communications skills appropriate for people of all ages.
