Saint Francis University seeks a leader with a proven track record of accomplishments to become its next Director of Physical Plant. This position involves the leadership and development of a 65- employee department and the planning, organizing, coordinating and directing of all Physical Plant functions. Responsible for all physical facilities; budget; coordination of personnel through supervisors; supervision of new construction and remodeling of facilities; repair and maintenance, housekeeping and supporting services of facilities; systemic inspection, planning and accomplishing repairs to facilities, equipment and grounds; and ongoing training and professional development of departmental personnel.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field is required, with seven years of successful management experience in physical plant administration and demonstrated knowledge of the principles of construction and maintenance. Professional Engineer License and experience in higher education preferred. Ability to effectively communicate with other University staff, students, industry personnel, and the public is essential. Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, coordinate, direct and control all aspects of physical plant activities. Intermediate knowledge of office administration, plant management, reporting, budgeting and control, computer skills, and business operations. Advanced knowledge of terms, nature of related trades, blueprints, buildings, grounds equipment, housekeeping, construction, repair, maintenance, purchasing, inventory control, fire, safety management, IBC & OSHA codes and related matters in higher education.
