Duties, skills and abilities; Under supervision, the employee in this position constructs, installs, maintains, and repairs high voltage overhead and underground power lines and support facilities. This position oversees and instructs Line Installers I and Line Installer II's in the performance of their duties and in the use of tools and materials. This position includes assisting in repairing equipment to maintain proper working order and maintaining, operating and installing high voltage electrical systems and related components. This position installs, inspects, and maintains sports facility lighting and outdoor lighting for safety. Some secondary electrical work is also included. Applicant should have the ability to read blueprints, order material for projects, and provide support for special events, oversee contractors working on campus and fill in for the Foreman in his absence. Applicant must be available to work overtime as needed to support repairs or construction during emergency or scheduled outages.
