Director, Design Standards and Professional Services
Columbia University is seeking an experienced Director, Design Standards and Professional Services, to join its Operations team. Responsibilities include ensuring that the Columbia University Facilities & Operations (CUFO) “Facilities Design Requirements” are up to date and reflect the experience and expectations of the University, with a specific concentration on the Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing/Fire Alarm/Fire Protection (MEP/FA/FP) standards. The Director will have comprehensive knowledge of industry MEP/FA/FP standards and specifications, with a special focus on NYC construction. In collaboration with Capital Project Management (CPM), Commissioning (Cx), Facilities and Operations (CUFO), and Manhattanville Operations, will develop and maintain the University Design Requirements. The requirements will address performance, constructability, maintainability, and compatibility with existing systems.

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field required; minimum of 7 years of related experience required. Well-versed in NYC Building Code and any other applicable regulatory and code requirements. Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office.
