Duties include oversight of costume shop and production budgets, manage day to day activities in the costume shop, drape patterns, sew on all theatre productions, attend weekend calls and production meetings as needed, attend all fittings, manage supplies and equipment, manage and supervise costume work study personnel and volunteers, travel to make area purchases, and manage costume inventory and rentals. The successful candidate will maintain clear communication and a positive, professional decorum with all personnel.
The successful candidate will have strong organizational and personnel management skills. Applicant must have solid costume construction background of flat patterning techniques, period patterning and construction techniques, cutting and draping, fitting, hand and machine stitching, and stock organization. Working knowledge of budget practices and Microsoft suite required. Ability to supervise student assistants, student volunteers and provide oversight to classes working in the Costume Studio.
Strong working knowledge of textiles, costume history, wig, hair styling, wardrobe and makeup in a theatre environment.
