Under the supervision of the Director of Campus Planning, the Construction Project Manager (Managing Assistant Director III) is responsible for managing and supervising University construction projects at the Union, Highlands and Princeton campuses. The Construction Project Manager works daily to manage all outside contractors, Architects/Engineers and inspectors to ensure contractor compliance with construction documents and O.S.H.A. job site safety and cleanliness. Daily job site inspections are reported to the Director and/or Vice President and constructions activities are managed as assigned. This position requires travel and a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours.
Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor’s degree; a minimum of two years of construction field management experience with direct responsibility for both new construction and renovations on a broad range of projects; and a driver’s license valid in New Jersey is required. A minimum of ten years of experience is preferred. Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute experience on a year-for-year basis. This position requires the ability to perform tasks that require moderate physical activity, including walking long distances, standing, bending and/or stooping, lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
