Responsible for the design, implementation, test and customer-site start-up of control, information and automation systems working in a project team environment. Reporting structure: Reports to Team Leader. Experience required for Professional Level : · Typically two to five years experience in automation projects. · Conversant with MS Office software products Excel, Access, Word, · Ideally Rockwell Automation Hardware and Software. Principal duties and responsibilities:
Overview · Experience in undertaking system field engineering and start-up activities. · Typically possesses broad application/technical knowledge relevant to assigned business team. · Must be able to work in a stressful environment where constructive feedback from others is encouraged. · Must have excellent conflict resolution skills. · Must be available and willing to work overtime, weekends and holidays to meet customer project commitments. · Must perform duties in the office or outside the office as part of a project team. · Must be able and willing to travel and work at both Rockwell Automation and customer sites.
Functional · Provides updates to project manager/project leader pertaining to status of activities, performance to schedule and performance to budget for self and other less-experienced engineers. · May participate in proposal development activities. · Performs detailed system design, both Hardware , Software and Start-up.
Interpersonal · May serve as the primary interface with the customer for assigned projects. · Supports an environment conducive to successful team interaction. · Interacts with Sales, Project Management, Purchasing, and Manufacturing personnel in support of project execution. · Obtains product technical information from other business units of RA as required Leadership · May lead contractors on project assignments. Business · Responsible for meeting project schedule, engineering hours budgets, and customer satisfaction targets. · Builds partnerships at a technical level of key customers . · Must be commercially aware of the impact to the business of selecting and developing the project design and implementation · May present and develop technical aspects of sales proposals to customers. · Responsible for following all applicable corporate, company, governmental and regulatory policies and procedures as appropriate for this position. · Responsible for delivering projects that meet the quality systems of the customer and the business unit
