ASSET COORDINATOR , Facilities-Repair and Maintenance (R&M), to work with the Institute's construction project managers, R&M personnel, contractors, and department leads to document, tag and track all mechanical, electrical, piping, plumbing, and structural assets in all campus buildings. Will provide leadership in managing data associated with current equipment, but also work with department personnel in documenting newly installed or removed equipment as a part of a construction or repair project; take input from multiple sources and direct personnel in confirming the integrity of information associated with such equipment and ensure that the data is uploaded to the equipment database in SAP; and work closely with IS&T, Business Systems, and Preventative Maintenance area leads to make sure data is complete and supports the mission of the department.
Job Requirements REQUIRED : B.S. in mechanical engineering or related discipline; at least five years of related experience; demonstrated experience working in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and applicable database management and asset tracking systems; experience with charting process flows; detail orientation; ability to manage MIT personnel and contractors in the process of gathering asset data, generating reports associated with the tracking of assets, demonstrating the success of the asset tracking process, and performing other projects as assigned; comfort working in a union maintenance environment and adhering to all safety policies; and ability to read and understand engineering drawings, i.e., blueprints, P&ID process flow diagrams, electrical one-lines, parts lists, and illustrated parts breakdowns. Experience with SAP and extensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, piping, plumbing, and structural systems and their components preferred. Training and presentation skills a plus. Job #16915-P
