Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The University is seeking for a talented individual to help support the educational mission of Appalachian State University by providing complete facilities maintenance and repair operations, grounds maintenance, landscaping, custodial services and minor construction and renovation to all of the University's real property.
Duties of this position include:
Total responsibility for the operation, maintenance and repair of all heating, refrigeration, air conditioning, control systems, and all associated equipment in their area of responsibility.
Repair all operations of chillers, cooling towers, air handling units and associated HVAC equipment for efficient operation while maintaining temperature and humidity control in the assigned buildings according to present schedules/set points.
Install HVAC units, wire controls, and fabricate and install duct work and associated piping.
Employee will troubleshoot air conditioning units such as Ductless mini-splits, and RTU and DX units.
Completion of high school or GED.
5 years' experience in the installation, maintenance and repair of HVAC equipment and systems, and the knowledge and ability to make routine carpentry, plumbing and electrical repairs. Working knowledge of refrigeration theory.
