The University of Virginia School of Medicine (SOM) is seeking a Director of our Clinical Skills Center (CSC) to manage the day-to-day operations of the center, manage staff, and oversee teaching and assessment with standardized patients.
This is a staff position. The ideal candidate will, at a minimum, have a Masterâ™s degree in education or a healthcare-related field. The position requires knowledge of standardized patient education, skills in case development and educating standardized patients, and knowledge of best practices and standards in assessment using standardized patients/Object Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCE). Certification as a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) is preferred. The candidate must be able to: communicate effectively; oversee several projects concurrently while maintaining high quality and meeting deadlines; be able to work independently as well as within a team. Leadership/managerial experience, including experience with budget construction, resource allocation, personnel management, quality assurance/quality improvement methods, and data collection and analysis are also required.
