Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey is seeking a Facilities Coordinator for the Office of the COO at the New Jersey Medical School. Under the direction of the Director of Facilities, the Facilities Coordinator coordinates the maintenance, upkeep, renovation and construction of all New Jersey Medical School facilities and sites.
Performs regular maintenance checks in NJMS physical spaces to identify problems with safety, cleanliness, adequate lighting and other issues.
Works with Access Control, Facilities Maintenance and Physical Plant to resolve issues.
Manages all card access and locksmith related issues for faculty, staff and students.
Liaises with the appropriate Rutgers departments to assure the safety of facilities.
Works with the Education and Administrative departments to coordinate renovation and maintenance-related requests.
Coordinates facilities renovation and maintenance projects with the University's department of Institutional Planning and Operations as well as internal departments and outside vendors.
Ensures that schedules are maintained and work conforms to the specifications and quality of the New Jersey Medical School.
Develops timelines to monitor workflow and maintains accurate records of follow-up procedures and activities for all on-going facilities-related projects.
Coordinates the activities of personnel, subcontractors and vendors as required to successfully execute workflow, events or projects emerging from the assigned area.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Architecture, Construction Design or a related discipline plus three (3) to five (5) years of related experience in a business office, government agency or university setting required.
Facilities and project management experience is required.
Applicants lacking the degree may substitute appropriate related experience on a year-for-year basis.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Project are required.
Experience with Computer Aided Design software (AutoCAD) is desired.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Must be able to lift or exert force up to ten (10) pounds.
